Hibou's birthday snuck up on us a little bit. Well, not really. But somehow we didn't plan quite as far in advance for Hibou's first birthday party as we did for Papillon's. That's what happens when you are the second child, right?
But, we still managed to pull off a pretty sweet party if I do say so myself. It was a "Hat-travaganza" to celebrate Hibou's newly helmet-less head.
Once again, we picked a date that didn't work for one of our good friends, but, she made the cake anyway. (It was the same story for Papillon's party. Said friend made the cake, couldn't make it to the party) Papillon helped.
The day of the party, we tried to incorporate hats in here and there.
Everyone who came was a good sport and wore a hat!
Hibou ate her hat...
She also ate her pizza. Except for the cheese. She hates cheese.
Papillon loves cheese.
We didn't have many strict plans for the party, so there was lots of book reading and playing in Papillon's room.
We did do a little hat decorating. I don't know that anyone's pompoms actually stayed glued to their hats. But oh well. It was a good thought.
Hibou wore many hats over the course of the party.
Cake time!! One for the guests, and a little one, especially for the birthday girl.
"Happy Birthday to Hibou!"
Cake time. It was tasty jello-cake. My friend had aimed for raspberry cake made with fresh raspberries...it was a delicious idea, and even a delicious cake. But it fell flat which made it no good for decorating. Oh well. The back up was a hit.
Hibou loved it.
Hats!
Happy birthday girl.
More hats!
Tasty hats!
One of the little party guests really wanted to say goodbye to Marge. She got a huge hug.
After all the guests left...even more hats!
Thanks to everyone who came! It was a fun fun time!
