West Point Day 1

Last weekend, Mon Amour, Papillon and I went on our first official family vacation.
It was just an overnight trip, but it was lots of fun.

We traveled to this cute little town in Virginia:

Where Mon Amour lived for a few years when he was little.

The first day we drove around and saw the sights.

We saw the school he attended, which had an amazingly shiny water tower in front of it.

We saw the paper factory where, at least at one point, about 80% of the town worked. It is still functioning, and still smells pretty nasty. Apparently Mon Amour's nose is still accustomed to the smell cause he was not bothered by it at all.

Papillon tried to maintain a dignified aloofness to the whole situation...

...but really, she was amazed at Mon Amour's childhood town.

And, as a related side note, when you pay $45 for a hotel room, and the biggest problem with the room is that it has 2 of the exact same picture on the wall, you have found a good deal.

Yes. It is the same picture on both walls. Exactly the same.
