Midwest 2011: Graduation Festivities

Our main reason for traveling to the chilly U.P. of Michigan was to see Mon Amour's sister graduate. She graduated with honors - woohoo! Nice work!

We celebrate multiple times, always with yummy food.

This cake was AMAZING. Chocolate with chocolate filling and chocolate frosting. Fabulous.

This cake, also delicious. Graduating comes with many obligatory but awkward photo ops. Posing with a cake that's too big to safely hold is one of them. It has to be documented though!

You would think Papillon had some cake...but no, she is smiling about her yummy peas.

After finishing her peas, she crawled across the table to hug the graduate.

This sign was made with much love. It comes with a bunch of letters so that you can customize the name. There are only 2 of each letter, so in order to spell her name, we had to do a make-shift A. We did a pretty good job. Can you tell which A is composed of a V and an I?
We also thought we should waste as few letters as possible, but had to come up with a phrase with no As and not many duplicate letters. Hence the "You Rock"

And now some photos of the actual graduation...or rather the photo ops afterwards.
Mon Amour's Sister and her Fiance.

Papillon super excited for her Aunt.

Papillon envisioning her own graduation someday. Better start that college fund now...
