Our reason for visiting Grenoble was to re-visit the town in which Mon Amour spent a semester studying abroad. It was our nostalgic part of the trip (for him, I had clearly never been there before)
I very much like visiting places that have memories - much more (for the most part) than I like visiting new places. So I enjoyed our walk through school related things - even if his college was a little bit....umm....functional in appearance.
Here is a wonderfully uncomfortable looking lecture hall.
A fairly industrial....I mean, functional looking building.
A very plain class room.
A very very functional hallway.
There really wasn't any charm to this place.

There was a protest thing...or at least the remnants of one.
Apparently some government official is cutting funding for schools. Therefore, they stacked up some school desks and put angry signs on them.
The view was pretty impressive though. When you are snuggled in the middle of the Alps, its hard to get away from the view.

After exploring the classroom side of campus - we venture up to the dorms - which were on the other side of the valley - up the mountain a ways.
And I do mean a ways. There were lots of steps. Some of which were rather steep.
All that climbing - only to be greeted by more, less-than-charming buildings.
It really was cool though to see where Mon Amour had spent quite a number of months.
Even though his dorm hallway's kitchen was difficult to get sentimental about...

No, there isn't any seat or any toilet paper. And yes, you just stand over it.
But once again, the view was hard to beat.
